Another Big Snow

Shortly after returning from Florida we were hit w/another big snow storm. This time we were more prepared.

Going sledding.

Cross country skier.. I may have to give this a go, next year.

Baby's first ultrasound

Our baby's first ultrasound scan that was taken February 12th.

The baby is sort of doing a somersault (I personally think that is a sign of a gymnast or a diver..haha). His/her head is down to the right, little rump is to the top left and umbilical cord stretching downward. The heart beat was amazing (to the say the least) to hear and brought tears to both Pete and my eyes along w/relief that all is well. We were told that everything looks normal and the baby has a very strong and healthy heartbeat. The two words to describe this experience so far is EXCITING and SURREAL..surreal surreal!!!!!!

So now when i'm feeling sick and gagging as, I am mostly 24/7 now a days, I can just look at this photo and know it is after all for a very good reason.

Christmas 2009

Christmas at my Mom's on the Suwannee 2009

Tommy, Tracy, Brandon, Blake and Emmie

Pete having some Emmie time. She is quite possibly the sweetest baby we've ever met. Hmm..possibly a shove for us to start our own family.. hmmm

Our 3rd or 4th Christmas dinner. This time we ate left overs. Ohhhh..and what wonderful left overs they were indeed.

Greta checking out her stocking.

Loving her Christmas toys.

Trully loving this one, a mouse filled w/cat nip that a friend of mine crocheted for her.. She couldn't get enough of this toy.

Christmas was good to Greta

Baily checking out her stocking.

Baily loving her toys on Christmas day

Pete lives on the Suwannee and spends much of his time fishing when visiting my Mom.

Baily loving the boat ride on the Suwannee.

We had a ton of things going on up in Asheville and initially we were only going to go south to North Florida for a few days then straight back to get back on all of the construction and such going on in our house.

However last minute we decided to make an impromptu visit down to the Key's to hang out a bit with Pete's parents. We had a really nice time visiting w/them.

Getting some sun in Key West. (Since we weren't expecting to go into warm weather, all we brought down w/us for Christmas was cold weather clothes, we had to buy some clothes to wear down there in the tropical climate....alas..I wasn't complaining).

Pete having some hammock time.

Our new boat.

Pete's Dad explaining the GPS system amongst many other things. The boat was quite an upgrade from the kayaks we are used to paddling around in.

Bon Voyage....

The co-captain...

A rather large wild iguana and if you look hard to his left he was sitting w/his little friend a very small iguana.

Our first big snow fall of the season

We had our first big snow of the season a week before Christmas and boy was it a doozy! Although it did cause some power outages and minor chaos around Asheville it was definitely beautiful to watch AND play in! Our new house is right across the street from the golf course which opens up during big snows for cross country skiing and sledding! It was very exciting. I being the ultimate snow lover and Christmas romantic walked the neighborhood many times watching the kids building snowmen , sledding down the golf course (there couldn't be a more perfect sledding hill), listening to sounds of giggling kids and taking in the beauty of the Christmas lights bouncing off of the white snow in perfect harmony. It was like walking around in a big snow globe or on one of those cheesy Christmas movie sets and I LOVED every minute of it!!

Our house?

A once very busy road, now nothing but cross country skiers and people walking to the grocery store (including us).

Playing on the golf course.

Baily was loving the freedom although the snow came up almost covering her entirely. She slept very well each night.

Time to go home.

Greta getting in on the action a bit.

She's a Momma's girl.

Furry Love.
