St Lucia Vacation

Our St Lucian vacation was something we pampered ourselves with before I got too pregnant to travel and after 4 months of being sick w/morning sickness. We had a fabulous time and can't wait to return w/our little guy.

It is a much more rustic, extremely rugged, full of rain forest etc then the islands to the north. It felt like we were in Hawaii. The people all speak French and English a sort of Creole/Rasta slang and were all very nice.

The beach in front of our first resort we stayed at.

Our resort had a lazy river flowing through and around it. Pete and I brought our own rafts and relaxed in the sun multiple rides on the 'river'. The resort had 5 pools all w/different 'themes' it was wonderful and we can't wait to bring our little one back.

I relaxed in the sun or under a cabana most of the time. The baby and Momma needed to rest. It had been a long nauseating 4 months :)

The locals all rode around on horses (same as a bike for kids here in the States) and you could always tell when the kids were out of school b/c the beaches would fill up w/kids on horse back. They all loved their horses tons and would run them, walk them then wash them off in the ocean when they were finished riding for the day. You could tell it was a love love relationship. Very sweet!

Pete finally gets some good local cuisine which we ate at a local place in a marina. He's in bliss.

We took a day long tour of the island via our own private motor coach (it came w/the price of our stay at the resort). This was a peak from a road at the Pitons.

Pete learning kiteboarding, the art of the kite from the shore is the first step.

During Pete's kiteboarding lessons he wore a helmet w/a remote microphone in it. This allowed the instructor to give him a voice inside his head. :)

Pete carrying his kite back after a morning of lessons.

Pete going snorkeling. I stayed on the beach this time.

In front of our resort that we were staying at. Our room/chalet was the last one on the far right. It was lovely and I feel lucky that we found this place.

Our "yard" and view looking out from our chalet at this resort.

Sailing out on the Hobie Cat.

I seem to float better now a days..hmmmmm :)

I love to float. I think the baby enjoyed it also.

Pete wake boarding. I had to just watch from the shore and remember the days that I to loved to wake board and dream of the days when I will be wake boarding once again.

Our resort had a ton of activities to do which was perfect for us. We don't sit still on vacation very well. We love to go, see...DO.

A horse evidently got away b/c he was just running full out down the beach..no 'owner' in sight.

Pete getting his self and the kite out of the way.

At one of our resorts there were countless palm trees lining the beach/property and the resort staff would climb the palm trees grab coconuts each day and chop chop..instant coconut drink for the hot, sun baked resort guest. They'd even pour a little rum in them if you liked a little spirit on your day.

Out on our day cruise on the catamaran before the nausea set in.

The famous St Lucian Pitons

Out on the catamaran 'before' I got sick and had to get off of that rocking boat. It was a very beautiful trip though and some day i'd like to attempt it again when i'm NOT pregnant.

Snorkeling..

Getting all suited up.

Don't hate b/c i'm beautiful.

Gotta get that kiss in.

My diver hubby

I am glad there wasn't anything under that ledge to bite his nose off. That could have changed our day a bit.

The baby's first dive.

We saw so many different types of fish, lobsters, eels, you name it we may have seen it. It was great snorkeling!

My belly grew a ton since being down in St Lucia. Was it the food, all of the R&R, the sun, fresh air..not sure but it definitely popped out there.

I have never seen anyone love fishing as much as Pete! Where there is fish, Pete will be go :)

Most of the work men on the island drove around in these small trucks that they order and have sent over to them directly from Japan on a boat. I have decided that I must have one for our work truck, hauling lumber, plants, trees, goats, bears.. you name it, i'd haul it in this adorable truck. I have yet to look into the specifics but it was the cutest thing ever and Pete and I talk about how much we need a work truck. We are ruining our cars w/all of the 'workman' stuff we do in them.

I'll keep you posted on that front.

and...he's up..He's officially up! The kiteboarding instructor said that Pete was one of the fastest learning students he had ever had. I chalk some of it up to Pete's unending determination when he wants something, excitement for the sport in general and being a good athlete.

This was one EXTREMELY happy man!

Going over everything the last day of Kite boarding class.

Going fishing and dreaming of coming back to do more fishing, kiteboarding, rela
